Video Case: New Cases for Samsung Galaxy S8/S8 Plus

Video Case: New Cases for Samsung Galaxy S8/S8 Plus. As Samsung diligently pursues the creation of a flawless device for its users, the anticipation surrounding its upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S8, continues to fuel speculation and rumors. Recent weeks have seen a flurry of renders and leaked cases pointing to various changes and features expected in the new device. The latest development comes in the form of a video released by case maker MobileFun, showcasing two cases believed to be for the upcoming Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus models.

Case manufacturers typically acquire information on a device’s dimensions to create compatible accessories. This latest render/case marks the third release from MobileFun, showcasing two cases in a video presentation where the narrator discusses the visible aspects of the device. A comparison is drawn between the case for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S7, pointing out that while the devices share the same height, the Galaxy S8 will be wider. A similar comparison is made for the case designed for the Galaxy S8 Plus, highlighting similarities in height with the Galaxy S7 Edge and Note 7, yet showcasing the wider form factor of the Galaxy S8.

The cases feature three cut-outs at their bottom: one for the speakers, another for the headphone jack, and a third labeled as ‘mysterious’. This particular square-shaped cut-out bears resemblance to those found in Galaxy Note cases and is speculated to be designated for an S-Pen slot. While rumors have circulated about Samsung possibly incorporating an S-Pen in the Galaxy S-series flagship, this is the initial piece of evidence that lends credence to that speculation. Notably, the absence of a cut-out for the charger prompts speculations regarding the possibility of exclusive wireless charging support for the Galaxy S8.

On the back of the case, two cut-outs are visible: one for the rear camera and a narrower one above it for the flash. Interestingly, there is no cut-out allocated for a fingerprint scanner. Recent reports have suggested that the fingerprint scanner might not be integrated into the display but could be positioned at the rear of the device instead. Furthermore, prior renders from MobileFun had displayed a cut-out for a button on the right side of the device, hinting at a dedicated button for Samsung’s AI assistant, Bixby. However, the cases showcased in the video do not feature such a button as anticipated.

The three images depicted above are sourced from the case manufacturer MobileFun.uk. Both the Olixar case and the case featured in the video exhibit similarities in their rear cutouts. However, the second case differs from the one showcased in the video today. Notably, the camera and flash cutouts on the back indicate that their positioning mirrors that of the Galaxy S7. Furthermore, the bottom cutouts appear more reliable, as they include openings for the speaker, headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging. It’s intriguing that three cases from the same manufacturer present varying details, giving rise to some uncertainty. Therefore, it is advisable to treat this case update with caution, as certain aspects may not align perfectly.

Stay tuned for further insights, leaks, and speculations regarding the Galaxy S8 in the upcoming days. Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus during dedicated events scheduled for March 29th in Europe and the USA.
