- Access the external SD card on your phone or computer.
- In the main directory of the external SD card, make a new folder named “fota”.
- Paste the update.zip file obtained earlier into the “fota” folder.
- Power off your phone.
- Enter download mode by simultaneously pressing the Volume Down, Power, and Home Key buttons. When a warning appears, press Volume Up to proceed.
- While in download mode, confirm that the bootloader status displays “Official” rather than “Custom.” If it shows as custom, revisit the preparation steps and follow step #4.

- When the recovery menu appears on your phone, use the Volume Up/Down keys to navigate and press the power key to select “apply update.zip from the SD card.
- In the “apply update.zip from SD card” menu, choose the update.zip file stored in the “fota” folder and press the power key to confirm your selection.
- Select the “Yes” option by pressing the power key, and the Nougat OTA will be swiftly installed on your Verizon Galaxy S7.
