As per documentation, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will carry the model number SM-G9500 in China, while the Galaxy S8+ may adopt the model number SM-G9550. The fundamental model numbers for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are SM-G950 and SM-G955, likely to undergo slight variations to distinguish regional variants. In the case of devices securing FCC certification in the US, the model numbers were recorded as SM-G850U and SM-G955U for the Galaxy S8 and S8+, correspondingly.

Samsung is scheduled to reveal the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ during dedicated events in New York and London on March 29th. With a focus on redemption following the Note 7 incident, Samsung aims to deliver compelling presentations at these events. The smartphones are anticipated to feature 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch Super AMOLED displays with an 18:9 aspect ratio, powered by Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 processors in various regions. Operating on Android 7.0 Nougat, the devices will host 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh batteries and introduce Samsung’s artificial intelligence assistant, Bixby.
