It isn’t often that users get to set the price of the handset. Online interest has reduced the price of Huawei Honor Holly from £109.99 to £89.99. This is the first handset to be introduced like this but does it really offer some nice specifications or not? Read the full review to know the answer.

Build

• The design of the handset is very plain.
• Physically the handset is clad in plastic.
• Curved edges make it comfy for hands and pockets.
• There is a lot of bezel all around the screen.
• There are three touch sensitive buttons beneath the screen for Home, Back and Menu functions.
• Headphone jack is on the top edge.
• Micro USB port is on the bottom edge.
• Power and volume button are on the right edge.
• The slot for microSD card and dual micro SIMs is beneath the backplate.
• The battery is also removable.
• The handset is available in two colours; white and black.

 

 

Display

• The handset has a five-inch screen with 1,280 x 720 pixels of display resolution. The resolution is behind the latest trends.
• The device has good viewing angles.
• The text is clear.
• Colours are bright and crisp.
• The handset is good for activities like video viewing, web browsing and eBook reading.

 

Processor

• The device has a 1.3GHz Quad-core Mediatek MT6582
• The processor is complemented by 1GB RAM.
• You can’t expect a lot for what you are paying but the performance is smooth for most of the tasks.

Features

• Honor Holly runs Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.
• It has Emotion User Interface. Just like the previous handsets supporting this interface, Honor Holly does not have an app drawer which makes it a bit messy.
• The handset supports dual SIMs.
• The features of Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth are present.
• The handset does not have the features of Near Field Communications, Wi-Fi ac and 4G.

Verdict

The handset offers a lot of thing at a very low price. Display is good, camera gives nice shots, processing is also smooth and the memory is really impressive.  On the whole considering the price the handset might be worth a try.
