Use S5 Elite Lite ROM To Update A Galaxy SIII I9305

We are fans of the S5 Elite Lite ROM, a custom ROM that can give you the stock apps and complete look of a Samsung Galaxy S5.  It’s a great ROM to install on the Galaxy SIII I9305.  Best of all, this ROMN will install Android 4.4.2 KitKat on the Galaxy SIII I9305.

Follow along with our guide and you can update a Galaxy SIII i9305 to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat.

Prepare your phone:

1. Check your device model by going to Settings>About Device.
2. Charge the battery to at least 60-80 percent.
3. Back up important SMS messages, contacts and call logs.
4. Create a backup EFS
5. Enable USB Debugging mode
6. Download USB driver for Samsung devices.
7. Root the device
8. Back up all apps on the device

 

Note: The methods needed to flash custom recoveries, roms and to root your phone can result in bricking your device. Rooting your device will also void the warranty and it will no longer be eligible for free device services from manufacturers or warranty providers. Be responsible and keep these in mind before you decide to proceed on your own responsibility. In case a mishap occurs, we or the device manufacturers should never be held responsible.

Installation Process:

1. Connect the device to the PC where you downloaded the ROM
2. Copy and paste the .zip files of the ROM to the root of the phone’s sdcard.
3. Disconnect  cable.
4. Turn off  device
5. Open the device in Recovery mode. Press and hold down the volume up, home and power buttons until you see text on screen.

There are two ways to continue installation and they depend on the type of custom recovery you have on your phone.  Chose the appropriate method for you

 

For CWM/PhilZ Touch Recovery Users.

1. Using your recovery, back-up your ROM
2. To Back-up, go to Back-up and Restore.  In the next screen, Choose Back-up again.
3. When the back-up is complete, go back to Main Screen
4. Go to ‘advance’ and choose ‘Devlik Wipe Cache’.
5. Go to ‘Install zip from sd card’.  You should see another windows open in front of you.
6. From options, go to ‘choose zip from sd card’.
7. Select S5 Eite Lite.zip file. C onfirm installation on next screen.
8. From Aroma Installer, choose Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
9. Choose whatever you like from Options and Continue
10. When Installation is Over, Select +++++Go Back+++++
11. Select Reboot Now and the system should  reboot

For TWRP Users.

1. Tap Back-Up and Select System and Data
2. Swipe Confirmation Slider
3. Tap Wipe Button and Select Cache, System, Data.
4. Swipe Confirmation Slider.
5. Go to Main Menu and Tap Install Button.
6. Locate S5 Elite Lite.zip, Swipe the Slider to install
7. From Aroma Installer, do a Factory Reset. After choosing the Options Continue
8. When installation is over, you should be promoted to Reboot System Now
9. Select Reboot Now and the system should reboot

How to solve Signature Verification Error:

1. Go to Recovery.
2. Go to install zip from Sdcard
3. Go to Toggle Signature Verification and from there, press the power button to see if it is disabled or not. If it is disable it and then install the Zip.

The first boot you do could take 5 minutes, so just wait.
