There seems to be no specific reason for this issue.

How To Fix iPhone 6/6 Plus Touch Screen Unresponsive Issue:

Sometimes the reason for the touch screen of these devices to become unresponsive is due to a crashed app. If so, then simply restarting your device should solve this problem.
If simply restarting your device is not fixing the issue, you may have to reset your iPhone. Go to Settings> General> Rest> Reset All Settings.
If the first two fixes don’t work for you, you may need to restore your device by using iTunes:
1. Connect your device to a PC or MAC
2. Open iTunes on the PC or MAC.
3. Click on your device on iTunes.
4. Click on Restore iPhone.
5. Clock on Restor and Update.
You can also restore your iPhone manually.
1. Download the latest iOS 8.1.3 IPSW for your device.
2. Turn off your device. Press and hold the home and power buttons for 10 seconds. Release the power button but keep holding the home button. This should put your device into DFU Mode.
3. Connect your device to a PC or MAC
4. Open iTunes on the PC or Mac.
5. Select your device on iTunes.
6. Hold the option key if you are using a MAC or the shift key on windows. Click on Restore iPone.
7. Select the iOS file you downloaded/
8. Click on agree. Installation will begin.
9. Wait for installation to finish.
