How To: Root And Install TWRP Recovery On A Alcatel One Touch Idol 3

The Alcatel One Touch Idol 3

These days it is no longer impossible to get a good smartphone on a tight budget.  Many manufacturers such as Lenovo, One Plus and Alcatel provide great smartphones at low and mid-range prices.

Alcatel’s One Touch Idol 3 5.5 is one device that offers high-end features at a reasonable price.  The  Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop, the latest version of Android.

While the manufacturer specs of the One Touch Idol 3 are great, if you are an Android power user, you will still want to go beyond manufacturer set limits.  To do so, you need to have root access and a custom recovery on it.  In this post, we’re going to show you how you can root and install TWRP custom recovery on a Alcatel One Touch Idol 3.

The first thing you will need to do, and that this guide will show you how to do, is unlock the bootloader of your device.  Then, we are going to show you how to root a Alactel One Touch Idol 3 5.5 with model number 6045.  Finally, we will show you how to install custom recovery.  Follow along.

Note: The methods needed to flash custom recoveries, roms and to root your phone can result in bricking your device.  Rooting your device will also void the warranty and it will no longer be eligible for free device services from manufacturers or warranty providers.  Be responsible and keep these in mind before you decide to proceed on your own responsibility.  In case a mishap occurs, we or the device manufacturers should never be held responsible.
