What To Do: If You Have Issues Using FaceTime On iOS 6

Fix Issues Using FaceTime On iOS 6

If you have iOS 6, you may be facing some issues when using FaceTime.  Official advice to fix this issue would be to update your device to iOS 7, but some readers don’t want to do that as they feel that iOS 7 is not a good platform.

We’ve found a few other methods you might want to try.  Take a look at them below and try and find the one that will work for you.

You have an iPhone 4

If you have an iPhone 4, FaceTime will really not work on cellular data.  You can only run FaceTime on an iPhone 4S, 5, 5s/5c, iPad 3, iPad mini 1 and 2.

Even if you have iOS 7 on an iPhone 4, FaceTime will not work for you.  You are going to need to get another phone.

You are on WiFi

If you have issues using FaceTime while on WiFi, check your connection.  If your WiFi network connections is unstable, if you have incorrect router settings or if there is anything else wrong with your WiFi connection this could cause issues with FaceTime.

Reactivate your account

Sign our from your FaceTime account then restart the device.  Wait for a second or two, then power on your iPhone login in FaceTime.

If neither of these work, the last method to fix issues with FaceTime would be to update your device to iOS 7.
