How-To: Update A Galaxy Core I8260 To Android 4.4.2 Monster$ Custom ROM

Update A Galaxy Core I8260

Samsung released their Galaxy Core in 2013 running on 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.  It’s a pretty good device but, Samsung doesn’t seem to be planning to update it to Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Since an official update seems out of the question, users of the Galaxy Core are having to turn to custom ROMs to update their devices.  In this guide, we’re going to show you how to update your Galaxy Core using Monster$ Android 4.4.2 custom ROM.

Before we begin, you are going to have to make sure of the following:

  1. Your battery has 60-80 percent charge.
  2. You have backed up important contacts, call logs and messages.
  3. You have backed up your devices EFS Data.
  4. You have checked your device model and found it compatible to the ROM in this guide.
    • This guide and the ROM it is going to flash is for the GT-I8260
    • Check your device model by going to: Setting > About
    • Do not use if your device is a GT-I8262
