Get Rid Of Unwanted Facebook Photos In HTC Device

HTC just launched its latest device, the HTC One. It is listed among the best Android device in the market. This device has a 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor and run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean which is overlaid with HTC Sense UI 5. Its features include a 4.7 full HD display, 4MP back camera and a RAM of 2 GB.

Sense 5 has a new feature, the Social Media Integration. This makes it a perfect device for using social media platforms. These platforms include the famous Facebook, Twitter and Google+.

A1

Social Media Integration is a very helpful feature. But it also has its disadvantages. One of these disadvantages is that it automatically syncs all the user profile pictures of the people in your friends list including the friends of your friends. This means, whether you like it or not, you’re going to have a bunch of pictures of people you know and don’t know.

Fortunately, a certain Riyal, who is a forum member of XDA created a MOD to solve this matter. The MOD he created will keep the gallery from syncing and will instead display a default thumbail.

This guide will teach how to install the mod on your device and remove those unwanted Facebook Images from your gallery.

Pre-requisites

You will first need to charge your device’s battery to 70-80%. And make sure that your HTC One device is rooted. Check also to see if a CWM recovery is also installed.

Removing Unwanted Images

  1. Get the “GalleryPatch” online and save it in a SD card.
  2. Turn off your device and reboot to recovery. This can be done by holding down the Volume up and Power button at the same time. Choose “Recovery”.
  3. Install the zip file from the SD card. Assign the path “GalleryPatch”.
  4. As soon as installation is finished, reboot your device.

This completes the removal of unwanted Facebook Images. It’s quick and easy.

If you also want to have your Stock Gallery back, download the app “Stock Gallery App” and flash it as you have done in the procedure above.
