How To: Get The Look of Android 4.4 KitKat On Any Android Device

Android 4.4 KitKat On Any Android Device

Phone manufacturers put their own UI’s on their Android smartphones.  Some manufacturers add their own features to the UI’s such as HTCV with their Sense and Samsung with TouchWiz.  At times, the UI is really the only thing that really differentiates the devices from one manufacturer to the other.

While most people are happy enough to initially use the UI that their manufacturer provided, some get a bit bored or feel like another UI might suit them better.  Because of the open source nature of Android, users can change their default UI’s by installing custom ROMs.  These custom ROMs can install different UI’s on different devices.

In this post, we are going to show you how you can make the UI of any Android device look like Android 4.4 KitKat.  This is a stock android launcher/interface from Google that they released in their Nexus 5.  This is a simple method that does not require you to have root access, though you may need to install some apps via the Google Play store or through apk files.
