How To: Enable The WiFi Tethering Function Of A Sprint Galaxy S6/S6 Edge

The Sprint Galaxy S6/S6 Edge

The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge from Samsung are powerful and beautiful devices that are carried by major carriers such as Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and others.

As internet, as well as 4G, 3G and LTE are used by almost everyone, carriers often provide unlimited or heavy data buckets.  Unfortunately most carriers don’t allow for the use of a device’s data plan for other devices.  In other words, having a carrier branded device can restrict the use of the WiFi tethering function.

If you have a Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge, we have good news for you, we’ve found a way you can enable WiFi Tethering on your device, allowing it to act as a WiFi hotspot.  Follow along with our guide below.

Enable WiFi Tethering On Sprint Galaxy S6, S6 Edge – No Root

Step 1: This first thing that you will need to do is to acquire your MSL code. If you want to get your MSL code, you will need to call Sprint customer support and ask them for it.  You can give them the excuse that you need your MSL because of slow internet connectivity. If you don’t want to call the Sprint line, you can also use an app known as MSL Utility application to get your MSL code.  Find, download and install this app.

Step 2: The next step that you will have to take is to open the dialer of your Sprint Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge.

Step 3: When you get your dialer open, you will need to ial this code: ##3282# (##Data#)

Step 4: You should see some configurations on screen. Change the APN type of APNEHRPD internet and APN2LTE internet from default, mms to default mms, dun.

Step 5: Once you have made the configurations, you will need to reboot your Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge.

Step 6: Now you will need to open settings > connections.  In connections, you should now see Tethering and Mobile hotspot. You can use this option to allow your Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge to function as a WiFi hotspot.
